Vanilla Bean Fudge

Gone are the days of pumpkin and apple.  Bring on all things gingerbread, cinnamon and sugar, peppermint…and fudge.  Fudge is one of the easiest things to make.  It is a great dessert to bring to a party or give it to someone as a gift.  So I decided to make Vanilla Bean Fudge by Shugary Sweets to kick off my holiday baking!  Well actually, I tried to make gingerbread fudge to kick off my holiday baking.  But I was not crazy about how it came out so I won’t get into it.

This past summer, I bought a bunch of vanilla beans to make homemade vanilla extract.  I haven’t used them since then so that was another reason I wanted to make this fudge.

IMG_5133From start to finish, this recipe takes about 10 minutes to make (not including chill time).  And you do need to act quick.  The fudge had already started to harden as I was pouring it in the pan.  And of course because it is Christmas, I added red and green sprinkles on the top.  I used a spatula to tap them down into the fudge since it began to harden.

IMG_5137You can see why fudge is the perfect dessert for a party or a gift.  You get quite amount from an 8×8 pan.

IMG_5138Although you get the flavor of the vanilla bean, you can taste the white chocolate that is in there, which I love!  Click here for the recipe and if you are looking for something different, check out a round up of fudge recipes from Chef in Training!
